Tanja Andrea Gruber, MD, PhD
Dr. Gruber is the Chief of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Stem Cell Transplant and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford University where she also serves as the Director of the Bass Center for Childhood Cancer and the Associate Director for Childhood Cancer at the Stanford Cancer Institute. Dr. Gruber is a physician scientist that actively engages in both laboratory and clinical research, with a focus on high risk pediatric leukemia. Her laboratory utilizes comprehensive next generation sequencing approaches such as whole genome, exome, transcriptome and chromatin immunoprecipiation sequencing to characterize these malignancies at the genetic and epigenetic level as well as high throughput drug screening to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities. She has developed and activated several multi-institutional therapeutic trials in pediatric leukemia that span newly diagnosed and relapsed disease including treatment protocols for newly diagnosed infants with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
